SAP FICO Functional Lead

Location: Jacksonville, FL – Must be willing to travel weekly

Experience Level: 15+ years

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned SAP FICO Functional Lead to spearhead the Finance and Controlling workstream of a large-scale ERP transformation initiative. This role demands deep expertise in SAP FICO modules, strong leadership capabilities, and a strategic mindset to align financial systems with business objectives. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery of the finance transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the SAP FICO workstream and closely manage and monitor the Functional Consultants on the workstreams

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define processes, and translate them into SAP solutions.

• Design and configure SAP FICO modules including GL, AP, AR, AA, CO-OM, CO-PA, and Product Costing.

• Ensure integration with other SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, etc.) and third-party systems.

• Drive fit-gap analysis, solution design, and functional specifications.

• Oversee data migration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and training activities.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.

• Act as a key liaison between finance teams, IT, and external vendors.

• Provide thought leadership and best practices in financial transformation and SAP S/4HANA implementations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

• Minimum 15 years of SAP FICO experience, with at least 3 full-cycle implementations.

• Proven experience in leading SAP FICO in large ERP transformation programs.

• Strong understanding of financial processes and statutory requirements.

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly preferred.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with global teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Professional certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – Financial Accounting).

• Experience in Agile or hybrid project methodologies.

• Familiarity with tools like Solution Manager, Jira, and ServiceNow.

• Exposure to change management and organizational readiness activities.
