Job Description

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering the SAP implementation project within scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and hands on experience in managing large scale SAP projects across multiple modules and teams. The individual will act as the single point of contact between business stakeholders, functional/technical teams, and vendors to ensure seamless execution and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end to end SAP implementation project (from initiation to go live and hypercare).
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
  • Ensure alignment with customer s business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Drive project governance, prepare steering committee updates, and manage escalation process.
  • Coordinate with SAP functional/technical teams, Basis, integration partners, and business SMEs.
  • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies; implement mitigation plans proactively.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with quality standards, audit requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Oversee change management, training, and knowledge transfer to business users.
  • Lead cutover planning, go live execution, and post go live support.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Experience: 10-15 years of IT experience with at least 8+ years in SAP project/program management.
  • Methodologies: Strong expertise in SAP Activate, ASAP, or Agile project management methodologies.
  • Technical/Functional Knowledge: Broad understanding of SAP S/4HANA, BW, BODS, BO, AO, and integration with third party systems.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage cross functional teams, vendors, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for executive and steering committee reporting.
  • Risk & Budget Management: Strong experience in managing project financials, risks, and dependencies.
  • Tools: Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, JIRA, SAP Solution Manager, or equivalent).
  • Certifications (preferred): PMP, PRINCE2, SAP Activate, or Agile/Scrum certifications.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem solving, negotiation, and decision making skills; ability to work under pressure.
