Logistics Scheduler
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Location: Forest City, IA (On-site)
Employment Type: W2 Contract 6-Months
Role Overview:
The Logistics Scheduler is responsible for aligning production schedules with customer demands and ensuring operational efficiency. This role involves coordinating work orders, managing inventory, and communicating daily plans to production teams to meet delivery requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Production Coordination (45%): Define and coordinate production scheduling requirements to meet customer needs. Ensure all work orders are accurate for production reporting and shop floor control. Manage rapid response requirements for specific product lines.
- Inventory & Order Management (30%): Assist in controlling inventory levels to fulfill incoming orders. Code and process orders by recording job tickets, standards, tolerances, and special instructions. Order packaging materials as needed and accommodate high-priority requests.
- Workflow Integration (20%): Coordinate daily workloads with crew members to ensure demand requirements are met. Deliver daily plans and work orders to the appropriate personnel to maintain continuous operations.
- General Support (5%): Perform other duties as assigned to support the logistics and production departments.
- Experience: 1-2 years of related experience in logistics, scheduling, or production planning.
- Education/Proficiency: Intermediate proficiency level with the ability to handle standardized assignments and follow complex technical instructions.
- Core Skills: Strong coordinating skills, short-term planning, and basic mathematical aptitude.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for distributing reports and placing supply orders.
- Shift Availability: Must be flexible to work 2nd or 3rd shift depending on facility availability.
