OVERVIEW
The SQL Developer is responsible for database and query design for custom MSSQL applications ensuring stability, reliability and performance on platforms that span multiple modules and environments.
This is a Hybrid position, and you must be able to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.

OVERVIEW
The SQL Developer is responsible for database and query design for custom MSSQL applications ensuring stability, reliability and performance on platforms that span multiple modules and environments.

The SQL Developer will:
- Successful candidate will perform a combination of the functions shown below, plus other duties as assigned.
- Primary responsibility is creating and refactoring MSSQL code and data structures.
- Recommend and develop data strategies to address industry requirements and business needs
- Analyze expensive queries, deadlocks and/or bottlenecks and remediate accordingly
- Approve DB Pull Requests and make recommendations for performance and standards adherence
- Update SQL development standards according to issue and remediations found/applied.
- Leverage modern software development and DevSecOps tools and processes to automate repetitive tasks
- Provide support for database activities in Azure and AWS
- Support DBA team in developing meaningful cloud metrics and reporting
- Mentor teammates through education and support
Essential Duties:
- Develop, design SQL Database architecture and code; primarily MSSQL.
- Assist DB and DEV teams in improving performance of existing SQL code and architecture

Qualifications
- 10+ Years of Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including current and recent versions
- 5+ Years of Hands-On MSSQL Development, with deep expertise in:
- Writing, optimizing, and refactoring stored procedures, functions, views, and indexes
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting SQL queries and database performance
- Writing, optimizing, and refactoring stored procedures, functions, views, and indexes
- 5+ Years Supporting Enterprise-Level Applications using MSSQL as a backend
- Strong background working in the healthcare or adjacent industries, including experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Proficient in Azure DevOps and GIT for version control and collaborative development
- Skilled at automating database processes and optimizing workflows for efficiency
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Effective at managing multiple projects and shifting priorities in fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-focused mindset
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree
- A combination of experience and education
Certification(s), Licenses:
- Relevant Microsoft or similar certifications related to MSSQL and/or database development and management.
Desired:
- Above in a medical or adjacent industry; especially electronic health records.
