Requirements and Desired Experience
- At least 7 years of experience in database administration and development, with a minimum of 3 years focused specifically on PostgreSQL.
- Proven track record in leading and mentoring database development teams.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, query optimisation, and indexing strategies.
- Experience in data modelling and database design within complex, high-transaction environments.
- Familiarity with travel industry data structures and processes is advantageous.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL, along with experience in using database migration tools.
- Knowledge of data retention strategies and compliance requirements relevant to the travel industry.
- Experience with database monitoring tools and conducting performance analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex database concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud-based database services, particularly AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, is considered a plus.
