SQL Server DBA

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a SQL Server DBA for a contract role in Utah Valley, Utah (UT).

Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server Focus):
This role will work on an upgrade to SQL Server across the organization, collaborate with other database teams to deliver the best in database quality; perform backup, recovery, and replication; and work additionally on SQL Server clustering upgrades and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution
* 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience - required
* SQL Server Clustering Technology experience - required
* Proven experience managing a broad portfolio of Microsoft SQL Server databases in enterprise-scale environments
* Performance Tuning - PL-SQL and T-SQL (should know these reasonably well)- required
* Backup, Recovery, Replication experience - required
* Strong analytical mindset with advanced troubleshooting and optimization capabilities
* Demonstrated ability to lead as a technical authority in database operations
* Expertise in Windows-based SQL clustering and high-availability configurations (e.g., Always On, log shipping, replication)
* Proficiency in backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning
* Familiarity with managing databases in segmented network zones (e.g., DMZ)
* Advanced performance tuning and query optimization
* Strong command of SQL and T-SQL scripting
* Experience administering SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS environments
* Hands-on knowledge of tools such as DBAmp, Idera, and native SQL replication
* Understanding of database auditing practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX)
* SSIS/SSAS/SSRS - nice to have
* Server Upgrade Experience - nice to have
* Exposure to additional platforms such as Oracle, MariaDB, MongoDB, or CosmosDB is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
