Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Application & SQL Developer to design, build, and modify applications and data-warehouse assets, and to support/optimize ETL processes in support of enterprise reporting and analytics. The role partners closely with senior SMEs, stakeholders, and functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and modify software applications.
Design/optimize relational & multidimensional database structures, data flows, and interfaces.
Enhance ETL pipelines to extract/transform/load data from multiple sources into the data warehouse.
Analyze and adapt warehouse structures for evolving business needs and added functionality.
Follow best-practice development standards; create/modify warehouse structures, reports, and interfaces.
Unit test and debug prior to delivery; contribute to requirements, technical design, testing, documentation, and planning.
Consult with stakeholders to clarify needs, constraints, inputs/outputs; propose and recommend technical alternatives.
Produce clear technical documentation and diagrams (specs, structure charts, data-flow diagrams, etc.).
Support functional teams with test scenarios, plans, and scripts.
Communicate technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences; work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams.
Mandatory Qualifications
7+ years with Visual Studio and C#.
7+ years with SQL Server/RDBMS.
Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON.
Strong proficiency writing/debugging C# and SQL (show concrete examples in resume).
1+ year experience in the electric utility domain (preferred/required by client).
Technical Requirements (demonstrated in resume)
Microsoft SQL; SQL Server query optimization.
C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core.
WinForms or WPF.
RESTful APIs, Web Services.
JSON, XML.
Nice-to-Have / Preferred
NoSQL: MongoDB, Postgres, Cassandra.
MVC, Design Patterns, Blazor, HTML.
Power BI, Python, XSLT, LINQ, SVN.
GIS tools (G/Technology, ESRI); AMI (Itron); Multispeak.
SQL Server spatial functions; SOAP Web Services; PI; Windows API.
Work Assumptions
Candidates work exclusively within the U.S. with reliable internet.
On-site presence required during the first month (onboarding/knowledge transfer), then ~50% on-site hybrid per agreement with the hiring manager.
Must be available to start on the project start date.
Data Sensitivity
Role involves handling confidential customer/system data (including PII and operational device information). Strict adherence to confidentiality and data-protection standards required.
