Job Title: Sales Engineer in Santa Clara, CA (on-site)

We are looking for an experienced sales engineer with a proven track record of technical expertise, customer satisfaction, strong communication skills, ability to lead demo meetings with prospective customers and understand new products and features quickly.

You will work with our direct sales force by providing technical and business expertise during pre-sales process engaging prospects or customers by conducting technical workshops (onsite or remote), creating and defending proposals for pilots or full scale deployments of product.

Responsibilities:

  • Support sales force to determine technical and business needs of prospective customers
  • Demonstrate products to prospects and customers (on site or remote)
  • Conduct detailed technical sessions (on site or remote) with prospects IT leadership from Operations, Engineering, Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications Management
  • Build business case for our products value proposition to the customer
  • Stay current on the latest product features, roadmap, competitive landscape, and market developments
  • Collaborate with product teams to exchange insights into products and feedback from customers
  • Represent product at industry events as needed, act as product evangelist

Desired skills and experience:

Educational background - Engineering post-grad or MBA equivalent

Years of experience 8+ years

Technical background -

  • Experience architecting and deploying complex enterprise products and solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to communicate to various stakeholders (CxOs, middle managers, individual contributors) with range of technical and business expertise
  • Understanding of:
  1. Enterprise technology (infrastructure, platforms, COTS application platforms, etc.) and operations under ITIL and DevOps (L1, L2, L3 operations, command center, site reliability engineering)
  2. Understanding of application development and management in cloud-native and SaaS technologies (including on-prem and off-prem multi-tenant architectures)
  3. Automation tools and methodologies (e.g. automation orchestrators, provisioning automation, cloud management, performance and capacity management, compliance reporting, etc.)
  4. High-level understanding of key technology products in the core IT landscape (servers, storage, middleware, networks, databases)
  • 3+ years experience as a solution architect in pre-sales operations for application operations or infrastructure services
