Position Overview
The Principal Business Systems Analyst – Salesforce plays a critical leadership role in driving complex, cross-functional system initiatives across the organization. This position partners closely with vendors, system integrators, architects, project managers, and senior leadership to lead enterprise-wide requirements gathering and provide consultative expertise for large-scale system implementations, integrations, and upgrades.
Salesforce expertise is central to this role. The ideal candidate will guide teams through Salesforce implementations, integrations, and optimizations while remaining current on Salesforce platform capabilities and leveraging them to address evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and facilitate complex, cross-departmental requirements gathering initiatives for enterprise systems, with a strong focus on Salesforce solutions
Serve as a subject matter expert for Salesforce architecture, data models, workflows, security, and integrations
Mentor and coach business analysts and cross-functional team members on best practices for requirements analysis, documentation, and delivery
Apply SMART criteria and structured analytical approaches to assess current and future-state processes, identify gaps, and align solutions with organizational strategy and roadmaps
Translate business requirements into well-formed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation using Azure DevOps
Develop and maintain documentation including process workflows, system mappings, batch job documentation, change requests, SQL queries, use cases, mockups, and SharePoint artifacts
Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance teams and lead, as needed, the creation of test plans, test scripts, test data, defect tracking, and test reporting
Actively participate as a senior member of an Agile delivery team, ensuring adherence to Agile standards, team agreements, and sprint commitments
Provide leadership to improve team velocity, quality, and continuous improvement across Agile teams
Troubleshoot complex system issues, reports, and data extracts
Support after-hours and on-call responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications
Associate’s Degree OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst working on Agile delivery teams
Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce, including architecture, data models, workflows, roles, profiles, and integrations
Experience with systems that integrate with Salesforce (e.g., EHRs, billing platforms, or third-party applications)
Experience with Facets
Microsoft SQL Server experience, including writing and troubleshooting queries
Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS guidelines
Proven ability to assess existing processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Experience leading and resolving complex system-related issues
Experience applying LEAN techniques for process improvement and automation analysis
IIBA certification (required upon hire)
