Security Engineer

What you'll achieve
The Dell Technologies Proactive Security Engineering Team is responsible for ensuring that all code developed at Dell is secure by default. Security Engineers are product security subject matter experts that come from a software development background and utilize their unique skillset to partner with engineering teams across the company to build security into every phase of the software development lifecycle at Dell Technologies. The Proactive Security Engineering Team is seeking a Security Engineer that will work in close collaboration with members of a cross-functional operations team within the Security and Resiliency Organization to support secure code signing technology solutions and processes and to enable secure code signing operations at scale for all Dell Technologies Business Unit stakeholders.

You will:
  • Provide consultative services to Dell Technologies development teams to enable secure coding practices.
  • Develop and enhance API's and integrations to enable secure code scanning for a diverse ecosystem of software development technology frameworks.
  • Develop automation to produce code integrity metrics and KPI dashboards which provide visibility and awareness to executive management stakeholders.
  • Work with business unit stakeholders to define requirements to enhance Secure Development Lifecycle practices utilizing SAST and SCA tools.
  • Collaborate on research and implementation of tools to help minimize product released with vulnerabilities using the best-in-class tools.
  • Collaborate with cross functional peers within the SRO to define security best practices in support of SecDevOps.

Essential Requirements
  • Strong technical background in software development using Python, Java, and .NET, with experience in Linux commands, database queries, and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Advanced knowledge of application security, including principles, SAST/SCA tools (e.g., Coverity, Black Duck), and open-source software (OSS) security risks.
  • Familiar with DevOps practices and CI/CD integration, ensuring smooth collaboration between development and operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Security certification required, such as CISSP, SSCP, CISM, SANS GSEC, ECSA, ECSP, or Security+.

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $132.300 - $172,500
