As a Security Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Cyber Security and Technology Controls, you are part of an agile team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. As an emerging member of the security engineering team, you execute basic software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical area, while gaining skills and experience to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement solutions proactively.
Write unit/integration test cases, perform functional/security/performance testing for the application modules. Create Software documentation and operational run books
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and on-premises infrastructure.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cloud and on-premises infrastructure management.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on security engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
Strong Python programming skills for automation and scripting.
Proven experience with variety of services in AWS or other cloud platform (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM)
Proven experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC).
Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Strong corporate communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
Experience in Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
