Senior AI Developer – Retail AI Chatbot Domain is a Must

Location: Charlotte, NC, (Tuesday and Thursday onsite is a must)

Duration: 6-12 Months

This role will directly empower company leadership by providing AI-driven insights through a chatbot interface. By correlating executive questions with Snowflake data and articulating business outcomes, the Senior AI Developer will help leadership make faster, more informed decisions. We are seeking a Senior AI Developer to design and implement AI solutions for company leadership, beginning with an internal chatbot that leverages enterprise data to provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate combines strong business expertise with technical skills, can correlate leadership questions with Snowflake tables, and translate them into AI-driven solutions. A retail background is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Retails Business/Leadership-Facing Chatbot Development
    • Build and deploy an AI-powered chatbot (using Cortex Agent or similar frameworks) to support executives with real-time insights.
    • Enable natural language queries against Snowflake tables to surface relevant business outcomes (e.g., sales trends, inventory levels, customer loyalty metrics).
    • Train and fine-tune the chatbot model, iterating when errors occur to improve accuracy and reliability.
  • Business Expertise & Data Correlation
    • Understand retail business processes and leadership priorities (sales dashboards, merchandising KPIs, supply chain metrics).
    • Correlate leadership questions with Snowflake data structures, ensuring outputs align with business expectations.
    • Articulate expected business outcomes from data queries, bridging the gap between technical solutions and executive decision-making.
  • Technical Solution Development
    • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and deliver insights from Snowflake tables.
    • Implement Python scripts for advanced analytics, automation, and model training where needed.
    • Collaborate with data engineers and BI teams to ensure clean, structured, and accessible data pipelines.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Monitor chatbot performance and retrain models to reduce errors and improve contextual understanding.
    • Document processes, solutions, and best practices for repeatability and scalability.

 

Experience

    • Must have prior experience in developing solutions in the Retail Environment (retailers like Kohls or Macy’s)
    • 9+ years of experience in software development or data science, with at least 4 years focused on AI/ML projects.
    • Prior experience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
    • Retail industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong SQL skills for querying and correlating Snowflake tables.
    • Experience with AI/ML frameworks and conversational AI (Cortex Agent, Dialogflow, Rasa, or similar).
    • Python programming experience (preferred).
    • Familiarity with data modeling, ETL, and BI dashboards.
