This is a fully onsite role in the Denver, Colorado area.

Job Duties And Responsibilities: Strengthen security capabilities for AWS cloud applications. As part of the Information Security department, the Senior AWS Cloud Security Engineer leads architecting, designing, deploying, and testing infrastructure, application, and data security controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in designing a multi-account, multi-region, highly automated AWS environment for the full software development life cycle.
  • Contribute to system support documents, operational procedures, and Cloud Formation templates.
  • Optimize system performance and troubleshoot outages, ensuring continual service improvements.
  • Proactively mitigate disruptions with redundancy, backups, and highly available solutions.
  • Provide systems administration on AWS infrastructure, supporting products like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, and more.

Skills, Experience, And Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 8-12 years overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years in Information Security, 3+ years in AWS Security.
  • Proficiency in AWS APIs/command line tools, security implementation for cloud-based systems in AWS.
  • Experience writing SOPs, system requirements, and technical documents.
  • Scripting language experience (Python, Javascript), automation tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Chef), and AWS/Linux skills.
  • Knowledge of security technologies, SIEM, Firewall/NGFW, EDR/DLP, UEBA, and Cloud Security environments.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills; incident response and security issue investigation experience.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, SANS GCIH, Vendor Certifications, AWS Certification(s) are a plus.
