Job Title: Senior Application Technical Specialist / Senior Application Developer

Position Overview
- Serve as a Senior Application Developer within DHS OIS ASD Division.
- Design, develop, enhance, and support Client-Server, Web-Based, Cloud-Based, and Mobile applications.
- Build and implement new functionality, system enhancements, and production fixes.
- Partner closely with Business Analysts, QA teams, DHS OIS leadership, and partner agencies.
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, reliability, and federal IT standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and enhance enterprise applications using .NET, ASP.NET, Visual C#, and SQL Server.
- Build system enhancements, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Work with Business Analysts to understand current and future business processes and translate them into IT solutions.
- Develop enhanced reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities.
- Perform proactive application monitoring, including audit log tracking and performance analysis.
- Lead and support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
- Ensure applications are secure, defect-free, and compliant with DHS standards.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to application, reporting, and query developers.
- Define and document coding standards, development processes, and best practices.
- Coordinate development activities across teams when required.
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain application quality and security.
- Prepare and maintain:
- Technical documentation
- System and process documentation
- User guides and SOPs
- ER diagrams and Visio network/design diagrams
- Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, technologies, and platforms.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned applications and technologies.
- Interact daily with government stakeholders and executive-level users.
- Support integration with statewide or enterprise-wide systems.
- Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and critical thinking in resolving complex issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
