Job Details

Our Client, a specialty insurance holding company is seeking for an Senior Claims Examiner - Public Entity.

Location: Remote
Position Type: Full-Time/Perm

Responsibilities:
* Investigate, analyze, evaluate, and bring to a disposition all assigned claims
* Coverage assessment
* Assure appropriate loss and expense reserves for all assigned losses
* Assign and manage the activities of independent adjusters and other vendors
* Manage, direct and work effectively with defense and coverage counsel
* Collaborate with clients, brokers and internal departments
* Identify risk transfer and subrogation potential
* Reinsurance reporting
* Preparing comprehensive claim correspondence, including coverage position communications
* Present cases at Claims Committee and Round Table meetings
* Attend training classes and/or secure professional designations

Competencies:
* Possesses the ability to organize and prioritize work activities timely and efficiently
* Possesses good written and oral communication skills
* Possesses the ability to analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and select the best course of action in a timely manner
* Possesses negotiation skills

Position Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent; JD preferred
* Minimum of five years of experience in handling litigated casualty claims, with an emphasis on General Liability and Public Entity claims in New York
* New York General Adjuster's license
* Good telephone demeanor
* Proficient use of a PC
* Valid driver's license
* Occasional travel

Rate: 110,000
