Position: Senior Cloud Data Architect

Location: Reston, VA, Primarily Remote but may be expected to report in office as required.

Type: Contract

Description:

Desired recruitment area: Must live within a commutable distance to Herndon, VA or in one of the Clearinghouse's approved States for hiring purposes.
Hybrid work expectation: Primarily remote but may be expected to report in office as required.
Duration: 6 months 1 year (estimated), with potential to convert to full time if performance and attendance are aligned with expectations

Job Description:
10 years of hands-on technical work with data architecture, database technologies and applications.
1-3 years of related AWS cloud-based data platform experience.
5 years of technical leadership experience.
A solid understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
Demonstrated experience and expertise with:
Enterprise Data modeling and Database design, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management, Metadata solutions, Data lakes, Data Catalogues and Data Governance.
Cloud-based data delivery technologies (AWS-specific experience preferred Redshift, RDS, PostreSQL, DynamoDB, DMS, S3, Glue, Orchestration, etc.)
Data integration across multiple large-scale systems.
Multi-tier database-driven application architecture.
Working knowledge of SVN, GIT, AWS Code Commit.
Data architecture strategy, planning, and program execution.
Collaborating with business users to understand business and functional requirements and incorporating these into the overall enterprise data architecture.
Proficiency in:
Authoring required conceptual, logical, and physical data models and data architecture artifacts.
Establishing and leading data architecture governance processes.
Cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.
Creative problem-solving and innovative solutioning.
Exceptional communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization, including management.

AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Big Data Certification, preferred
