Position Overview
The Senior Data Architect & Analytics Lead is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing enterprise data architectures, data warehouses, and analytics solutions across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on enabling advanced analytics and reporting, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and compliance (including EIR accessibility standards), and aligning data strategies with organizational goals in the healthcare domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and multidimensional data structures to support analytics and reporting.
- Develop strategies for data acquisition, archival, recovery, and database implementation across on-prem and cloud platforms.
- Define and maintain enterprise data models, enterprise data standards, and metadata repositories to support strategic data management.
- Architect and design ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica and other integration tools; manage data integration using ETL tools, APIs, and real-time streaming.
- Design and model data for cloud-based data architecture solutions using Snowflake as the primary data platform.
- Implement and manage data solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, including hybrid and on-prem-to-cloud migration roadmaps.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and big data analytics into healthcare data solutions.
- Work closely with data engineers, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data accessibility, usability, and performance.
- Ensure all administrative and user-facing data interfaces (input, view, and reporting) comply with EIR accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
- Apply data governance and information management principles, ensuring security, compliance, and best practices across the data lifecycle.
- Lead and manage complex analytics and data architecture projects, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing across on-prem and cloud technologies.
- 10+ years of experience with business intelligence and big data solutions.
- Experience with healthcare data standards (FHIR, CCDA, HL7).
- Proven experience leading and managing advanced analytics projects.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform, including deploying and managing applications and data storage.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, best practices, and information management concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and database technologies, including performance tuning and complex query design.
- Experience designing and maintaining enterprise data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support analytics and reporting.
- Experience with ETL tools, data integration platforms, APIs, and architecting ETL pipelines using Informatica.
- Experience with EHR integration, APIs, and real-time data streaming.
- Knowledge of advanced analytics tools and strategies; ability to evaluate and apply AI/ML and big data analytics in healthcare use cases.
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure management, including cloud storage options, cloud security, and best practices for deploying applications in the cloud.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing and deploying big data applications.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with Python and/or Java/Scala.
- Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration strategies.
- Prior healthcare industry experience.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, IT processes, architecture frameworks, and enterprise information management principles.
- Consulting and facilitation skills; ability to work in a customer-focused manner and communicate across all organizational levels.
- Proactive leadership style, self-starter, with strong attention to detail.
- Certifications such as TOGAF, or cloud solution architecture certifications on Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience working with Texas or other state eligibility systems.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
