Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Databricks Engineer to join a DevOps-focused data engineering team. This role will own end-to-end analytics and data engineering solutions on Microsoft Azure, working closely with source application teams and product owners to deliver high-quality, scalable data platforms.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS, Python/PySpark, SQL, and building both batch and streaming data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support Azure-based analytics and data engineering solutions
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines using Databricks and Azure services
- Implement data migration, ingestion, transformation, modeling, and validation
- Work across the full development lifecycle:
design cloud engineering CI/CD testing deployment BI production support - Collaborate with product owners and source data teams to drive business insights
- Participate in a DevOps model where the team fully owns its product
- Provide technical leadership, solution design, and mentoring
- Work effectively with distributed Agile teams
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of data engineering / analytics development experience
- 3+ years of strong SQL for analytics and data validation
- 2+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Data Lake / ADLS / Blob Storage
- Azure Event Hub / Azure Stream Analytics
- Azure DevOps
- Strong experience with Python and PySpark
- Experience with ETL / ELT pipelines
- CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub
- Agile / Scrum development experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
- 5+ years overall data engineering experience
- Azure Data Explorer (ADX) or Azure Stream Analytics
- Power BI or Cognos
- Terraform experience
- Azure certifications (Data Engineer / Developer)
- Spark certification
- Airline industry experience
