Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in West Palm Beach, FL that is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and play a key role in enhancing our data infrastructure.

Summary:
This individual will be responsible for supporting reporting and data analysis initiatives, while leading the migration of our database systems from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will also bring experience in .NET backend development, enabling close collaboration with our software engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the migration of databases from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity, performance, and minimal downtime
* Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems to support business intelligence and reporting needs
* Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to optimize reporting workflows and data accessibility
* Monitor database performance, implement tuning strategies, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
* Develop and maintain ETL processes, stored procedures, and data pipelines
* Provide support for .NET-based backend systems, including integration with databases and APIs (if applicable)
* Establish and enforce database security, backup, and maintenance policies
* Document database architecture, processes, and best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server
* Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including migrations, performance tuning, and administration
* Proficiency in SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization
* Familiarity with data warehousing, reporting tools, and analytics platforms
* Experience working with .NET (C#) backend systems is highly desirable
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
* Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
