We are seeking an accomplished Senior Database Engineer who excels at designing and implementing database systems. This engineer would support our Web Enterprise team in building the software tools that power our proprietary CRM platform and support our sales and research teams across Homes.com, CoStar.com, Apartments.com, LoopNet.com, and more.

This position is located in our Richmond, VA office and offers a schedule of Monday-Thursday in office and Friday work from home.

Responsibilities
  • Design, document and implement efficient and scalable database solutions to handle high-volume throughput
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve processing performance
  • Develop backup/recovery strategies to ensure data integrity
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data issues as they arise
  • Drive and lead software design, development standards, code reviews and production releases
  • Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization
  • Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices.
  • Willingness to take an active role in mentoring other developers.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college
  • 5+ years of database design and T-SQL programming on enterprise solutions
  • Extensive experience optimizing database performance in production
  • Experience in architecting, designing and building event-driven applications in an agile environment
  • Excellent software development and engineering skills on large scale, mission-critical applications
  • A track record of commitment to previous employers

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Document Data Systems (Dynamo, OpenSearch) a plus.
  • Experience with AWS S3, Lambda, SQS, Kafka a plus.
  • Experience working on a SOX compliant team a plus
