Role: Senior Design Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite)
Duration: Long term contract

Job Description:
We are seeking a Design Engineer with strong experience in Body-in-White (BIW), sheet metal, and closure systems to support automotive vehicle programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on ownership of design, development, and production support activities for automotive body components in a structured OEM or Tier-1 environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive design engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience in:
    • BIW / Sheet Metal / Closure Systems
    • CATIA V5 / 3DX (mandatory)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Automotive manufacturing processes (stamping, forming, welding, joining)
    • DFM, DFMEA, GD&T
  • Experience working with PLM systems (Teamcenter or OEM-specific tools)
  • Proven ability to support production vehicle programs
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in OEM or Tier-1 automotive environments
  • Experience supporting production vehicle launches
  • Exposure to cost and weight optimization initiatives
  • Supplier-facing engineering experience
