Senior DevOps Engineer

The position:

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer who will be part of a team architecting, provisioning, automating and deploying our products. We strive to build robust infrastructure that will be used by developers to deploy with minimal intervention. We follow agile methodology and use infrastructure-as-code for our solutions. Everyday is different with a different set of challenges and your ability to dive deep to troubleshoot, identify and fix in a timely manner is important to us. You will collaborate with a super talented team of machine learning engineers and data scientists as needed. As a Sr DevOps Engineer at Pipl, you will have a major impact on the way we design, deploy, support, and operate our DevOps solutions to meet the needs, and evolve the underlying technology. The goal of the Sr DevOps Engineer is to build first class infrastructure and support the developer lifecycle for agile development of our services and products.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and implement scalable and robust cloud infrastructure solutions, utilizing industry best practices for high availability, performance, and security.
• Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable seamless software delivery and automated deployments across multiple environments.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to define and implement efficient workflows, ensuring the stability and reliability of production systems.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve the efficiency of software development and deployment processes, such as infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems promptly.
• Implement security best practices, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in DevOps, cloud computing, and automation, and evaluate their applicability to enhance the existing infrastructure and processes.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the team, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
• Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies into the DevOps ecosystem.
• Work on-call in rotation.

Requirements

You are:

• At least 4 years of professional experience (in industry) as a DevOps Engineer
• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• Solid understanding of Cloud Infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform
• Self learner - Must
• Experience with using and implementing IaC; Terraform, Crossplane
• Experience in containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, GKE
• Experience in building, and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions with ArgoCD
• Minimum 4 years Git experience
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki
• Good scripting skills using bash or Python
• Ability to debug problems that span systems and design solutions that span the whole stack
• Hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems
• Experience with Soft Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, Ansible & Cloud-Init
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with keen attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Advantageous skills:

• Past software development experience as a contributor in a team
• Reliability Engineering experience.
