RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a growing and established Engineering Technology company, is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer. This company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, annual bonprofit sharing, 401K matching, etc.

Responsibilities:
* Comprehensive design and development of analog and digital circuits, power systems, and signal processing subsystems for intricate products
* Define system-level architecture and select components for electronic systems
* Take circuit designs from initial concept through simulation, prototyping, testing, and integration
* Design and implement sophisticated control systems using microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs
* Lead and mentor the PCB design process, ensuring layouts are optimized for signal integrity, manufacturability, and thermal management
* Oversee the entire PCB development lifecycle-from schematic capture and layout to review and prototyping-and perform simulations to validate PCB designs prior to mass production
* Develop test plans, protocols, and procedures for hardware validation, performance testing, and debugging of prototypes
* Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with other system components
* Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their growth and enhancing their design capabilities
* Lead design reviews and technical discussions to ensure all engineering solutions meet design objectives and uphold the highest quality standards
* Manage major design projects from initial planning and concept through to final implementation and production
* Troubleshoot complex electrical issues during design, testing, and production, applying root cause analysis to resolve design defects or failures
* Drive continuous improvements in design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate time-to-market

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
* 4-6 years of experience in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and system-level integration
** Proficiency in electronic design and simulation tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, LTSpice, MATLAB, and PSpice
* Experience with PCB design and layout software like Altium, Eagle, KiCad, and Mentor Graphics
* Expertise in analog and digital signal processing, microcontroller, and embedded system design
* Solid understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal design considerations
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior engineers and encourage a collaborative team environment
* Hands-on experience with circuit-level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other bench tools
* Experience with IDEs such as STM32CubeIDE, MPLAB X, or Atmel Studio, and toolchains like GCC and IAR or similar
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Familiarity with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or CMSIS-RTOS for task scheduling and peripheral management is a plus
* Proficiency in reading and writing basic firmware for microcontrollers/microprocessors (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR) is a plus
* Experience with C/C++ programming for hardware bring-up, peripheral configuration, and debugging via JTAG/SWD tools is a plus
* Experience with high-speed, high-voltage, and mixed-signal circuit design is advantageous
* Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) and IoT systems is desirable
* Experience with FPGA programming is also a plus
