Role -Sr Mainframe Engineer

Mode - Remote

FTE with Hexaware

Required Skills:

• At least 7 to 9 years of experience in Mainframe Application Development and / or Application support projects in Mainframe
• Strong knowledge on Mainframe and experience in Mainframe projects
• Strong experience in COBOL, DB2, JCL,VSAM knowledge on CICS is a plus
• Knowledge of database management systems such as DB2 or IMS.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices.
• Have experience in Functional Design, Technical Design, Build and Test for Mainframe Batch Applications
• Have knowledge and experience in Program Analysis, Impact Analysis, identification of Application System flows, Program flows of Batch Jobs
• Understand Batch Scheduling tools and its principles

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in COBOL programming and support.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Familiarity with mainframe environments and related technologies.
• Good interaction skills with Clients and have had experience in participating in sessions with Clients and performing independent analysis of programs based on inputs received from Clients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work in a diverse, multiple stakeholder team environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide break-fix support for COBOL-based applications and systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents and minimize downtime.
• Perform regular maintenance and updates to COBOL applications to enhance performance and reliability.
• Document issues, solutions, and best practices to improve the support process.
• Assist in the development and testing of new features and enhancements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
