Manufacturing Engineer

Racine, WI | Onsite | Job Shop Environment

Schedule: M F, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM

A well-established, fast-paced contract manufacturer is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. With a strong legacy and a highly experienced workforce, the company is seeking fresh energy and shop-savvy talent to help modernize operations and drive efficiency.

Position Overview

You ll work closely with fabricators, welders, and senior engineers to optimize workflow, improve processes, and support a wide variety of custom fabrication projects. The role is geared toward someone who understands how things get built, has exposure to drafting/3D modeling, and wants to make a meaningful impact without being stuck behind a desk all day.

This role reports onsite daily and involves direct collaboration with engineering, operations, and shop floor staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing of custom, quick-turn fabrication jobs welding, press brake, laser cutting
  • Assist in technical drafting and 3D modeling (SolidWorks experience helpful)
  • Interpret and improve customer drawings and prints for manufacturability
  • Collaborate with shop floor personnel to resolve issues and drive improvements
  • Help identify process improvements, reduce bottlenecks, and support lean efforts
  • Work on a wide range of short-duration projects from a few hours to a few weeks


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on background in metal fabrication, welding, press brake, or job shop environments
  • Experience in a contract manufacturing setting preferred where flexibility and responsiveness are key
  • Exposure to 3D modeling/drafting SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
  • No degree required experience and shop floor intuition are more valuable
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves, working with legacy processes, and proposing improvements
  • Strong communicator with a shop-first mindset and problem-solving skills

Compensation & Schedule

  • Competitive hourly or salaried compensation, $95K-$110K
  • Full-time, onsite role: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM

  1. Initial Interview: Onsite with Engineering Manager and shop leadership
  2. Final Interview: Onsite with VP of Finance and HR Manager
