We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support assembly operations in a facility that has been transitioning to state-of-the-art equipment and advanced manufacturing processes. You will be working cross functionally with other engineering disciplines optimizing the performance of a wide range of tasks to facilitate assembly operations, production and business unit objectives for the Foley, AL site. You will also be designing and arranging machines, tooling, and sequence of operations and making sure that mandatory modifications are incorporated to ensure configuration compliance and to improve efficiency. In addition, you will have an opportunity to support advanced manufacturing automation projects and engaging with the Program Office across other facilities for Continuous Improvement initiatives.
The position is onsite at our Foley AL facility. Relocation assistance is available.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do:

- Work cross functionally with stress, design, electrical, materials and process engineers to improve product design to achieve maximum producibility \n
- Implement process technology upgrades by applying various engineering applications such as robotics and automation. \n
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events across all business processes and with all levels of leadership \n
- Own design and arrangement of tooling and machines of the manufacturing process (layout) collaborating with the advanced manufacturing team \n
- Identify opportunities on drawings and specs to influence changes to engineering designs that improve product manufacturing and producibility. \n
- Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during fabrication. \n
- Use advanced data analytics to analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) productivity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets and improvement. \n
- Ensures sequence on manufacturing process and product builds complies with EH&S and Quality requirements. \n
- Drive problem solving initiatives & challenge status quo (Corrective Action Investigations, OEE, FPY and Customer escapes) \n
- Work cross functionally with Quality participating and contributing to PFMEA and Control Plans \n
- Own creation and maintains manufacturing process documents (routings, BOM, Visual aids, Std work, etc.) \n
- Participate in digital manufacturing initiatives with support from Digital Subject Matter Experts (SME) \n
- Perform other duties as needed \n
Qualifications You Must Have
- \n
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience \n
- Experience reading and interpreting specifications, and engineering drawings and models. \n
- Experience adapting equipment or tooling design to factory and production conditions. \n
- Experience with Continuous Improvement tools \n
- Experience with CAD design software \n
Qualifications We Prefer

- Experience in robotics and automation. \n
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Red X ACE or CORE \n
- Experience with CATIA, SAP \n
- Understanding of Project Management methods. \n
