Title: Senior Mastering Editor

Job Summary:
The Senior Mastering Editor will be responsible for a leadership role in handling advanced editing tasks, preparing final assets for delivery, and ensuring content meets both creative and technical standards. This role requires a blend of editing expertise and technical proficiency, focusing on online editing, mastering, audio specs, and file preparation for various distribution platforms. The Mastering Editor will collaborate with client-facing teams to ensure assets are delivered on time and to spec, while also troubleshooting any technical issues during the process.
Responsibilities:
- Edit and assemble final video/audio content, ensuring it meets creative and technical specifications for various distribution platforms, including communication with the client.
- Provide a key voice in developing prescribed workflows and the purchase of equipment
- Transcode and encode assets to the required formats and perform mastering tasks, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Be able to speak knowledgeably to clients on media operations services.
- Perform audio/video editing, layback and standards conversion using the prescribed workflows and equipment
- Perform audio/video specification quality assurance prescribed by policy and procedures in advance of hand-off to Master Quality Control
- Perform delivery of assets via accelerated digital delivery mechanisms using the prescribed workflows and equipment
- Editing requests using NLE, such as insert edits of UHD, IMF packaged material or program timeline builds
- Troubleshoot and correct reported issues with assets and collaborate with Mastering PMs, Production Managers and Engineering, as necessary. Provide the technical knowledge for external client feedback
- Maintain an up-to-the-minute accurate account of production and task status in job management systems
- Stay current with workflows and workflow changes, management updates, and tutorials
- Stay current with changes in transcoding software/hardware
- Develop and maintain documentation regarding training and operational guidelines.

Essential qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in video/audio editing, online editing, or mastering.
- Strong proficiency in Non-Linear Editing systems
- Extensive experience in encoding, transcoding, and finalizing assets for broadcast and digital distribution.
- Solid understanding of technical specs, file formats, and industry standards for AV content.
- Experience in handling advanced AV formats.
- Proficient in colour grading, audio mixing, and other postproduction techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with multiple teams to resolve problems efficiently.
- Experience with quality control processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
