| Job Description | The client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Sr NE) to implement and provide support to the agency's IT Network infrastructure. The Sr NE performs day-to-day activities related to the support, documentation, research, analysis, and implementation of VDOT Network related infrastructure. Candidate must have in-depth, considerable knowledge and hands-on experience understanding, documenting, and maintaining Network related infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: -
Considerable knowledge and working experience with enterprise routers, switches, VPN concentrators, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers (including the ability to document, set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot) -
Be capable of troubleshooting Network related infrastructure. -
Identifies and diagnoses system problems by using line monitors, diagnostic software, test equipment. -
Works closely with agency's IT infrastructure suppliers and stakeholders to gather requirements, specifications, and configurations to assure they are accurate and up to date. -
Responsible for assisting in troubleshooting and resolving network issues impacting application performance and uptime. -
Assist in overseeing the installation, documentation, and upgrades of various agency facility data network infrastructure. -
Will oversee and collaborate with cloud and DevSecOps teams to optimize hybrid connectivity and SDWAN configurations. -
Must have the ability to provide documentation, network architecture topology diagrams, IP schemes, firewall rules, and access controls when required. -
Must have the ability to work independently on assigned projects. -
Must have minimally obtained an industry standard networking certification (example: Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA- Junos, etc.) |
