RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in San Antonio, TX.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer/Team Lead to join a team managing industrial networks in operational technology (OT) environments. This role blends deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, guiding the design, deployment, and automation of complex network solutions across field sites and control centers. The ideal candidate is hands-on, experienced with OT communications, and capable of leading a team through Agile delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the OT Communications team, translating high-level network architecture into actionable, low-level implementations
* Design, deploy, and maintain secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and wireless technologies
* Automate network provisioning and management using tools like Ansible, Terraform, Netbox, Nautobot, or similar
* Develop monitoring thresholds, troubleshoot network issues, and proactively address performance or security concerns
* Mentor and guide team members, ensuring adherence to best practices, documentation, and change control procedures
* Manage the team backlog, prioritize work, and coordinate with business stakeholders to meet delivery objectives
* Participate in Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Planning, and System Demos
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience in enterprise or industrial network environments
* Proven experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and WAN/security protocols (IPSec, DMVPN)
* Experience with SD-WAN, wireless communications (cellular, satellite, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint), and microwave networks
* Strong understanding of OT systems and industrial control environments is highly preferred
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, network automation, and modern deployment practices
* Experience leading technical teams and managing backlogs in Agile frameworks (SAFe experience preferred)
* Excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and troubleshooting abilities
Preferred Certifications & Skills:
* SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification or equivalent experience
* Hands-on experience with IoT network integration, monitoring tools, and IT service management practices

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
