Job Details

Title: Sr. Network Security Engineer (Microsegmentation)

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: Full-time

 

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document network security requirements
  • Plan, design, and implement Microsegmentation solutions using Akamai's Guardicore Micro-segmentation zero trust
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and audits to identify and mitigate network security risks and gaps
  • Resolve technical issues on Akamai’s micro-segmentation, Zero Trust product, analyze security policies, and access controls
  • Configure/implement/upgrade Palo Alto firewalls and VPN
  • Optimize firewall rules
  • Configure dynamic protocols, to include RIP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with other IT and security teams to provide technical guidance and support resolving network security issues and best practices

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in network security engineering
  • Experience with Akamai's Guardicore Segmentation, or similar microsegmentation solutions is a plus
  • Experience defining and configuring firewall policies
  • Experience configuring dynamic protocols RIP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Knowledge of network security concepts, protocols, tools, and best practices
  • Experience gathering security requirements and designing network security
  • Proficient with monitoring, troubleshooting, and responding to network security incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing remediation actions.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
