Senior Network Security Engineer with Operational Technology experience W2 role

Position Details:

50% of the position is Senior Security Engineer functions:
Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions for projects such as biometrics, smart cards, Secure remote access, VPN, Intrusion detection, port scanning, web security and vulnerability assessments and remediation.

50% is Network Security Engineer functions:
Manages the identification and reporting on risk assessments and updates evaluations in order to determine and forecast operational needs and changes. Provides presentations on reporting and operational enhancements and metrics with special focus on variance analysis. Establish risk management policies and procedures, and guidelines on risk limits. Provides fraud expertise on services to internal and external customers. Develops system enhancements and meaningful reporting and operational management reporting tools and web-based tools and programs to manage, prevent, and mitigate risks. Identifies problems and recommends solutions to risk assessments.

***-Must have Operational Technology/ OT experience**

-Project is NY DOT PBITS (New York’s Project-Based Information Technology Consulting Services, a state-managed contract that allows New York State agencies and other authorized entities to procure IT consulting services through a streamlined process)
-Traffic management plans
-Long assessment of improvements
-Traffic operations centers
-What do in field how run network, services, applications
 -10 op centers grew up on own
-Now taking a central look and doing some strategic planning - need to go and execute
-Working more with state IT (traditional IT shop), which doesn’t quite understand the 24x7 OT vs IT (operational technology)
-Have a large number of tasks that need to get done
-Our team will be the group to move the tasks forward
 -29 projects to get complete
-Mature cisco environment 
-Other tech is older
 -Moving to SDWAN Cisco 1101's
-Layer 2-3 routing switching; mostly layer 2 
 -Mostly Cisco for NY DOT
-Bifurcated in districts and regions; all deployed and documented differently
 -Assessments have been done on each site
-Will understand the weak points, perform design, documentation and provide support
-Rolling out 6000 SDWAN devices now
-Two guys on the project work now
 -Very tactical stuff right now
-Bigger picture in mind 
-Some closed systems and going to centralized
-Connecting to remote apps
-Others are all cellular
