Monitoring Migration SME - TMON to IBM OMEGAMON

CDW is seeking a Monitoring Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support the migration from TMON to IBM OMEGAMON. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with TMON and IBM OMEGAMON, and will work closely with stakeholders to assess the current monitoring environment, design a comparable or improved OMEGAMON configuration, and ensure the migration meets customer requirements and operational goals.

CDW is seeking a Monitoring Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support the migration from TMON to IBM OMEGAMON. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with TMON and IBM OMEGAMON, and will work closely with stakeholders to assess the current monitoring environment, design a comparable or improved OMEGAMON configuration, and ensure the migration meets customer requirements and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for migrating monitoring capabilities from TMON to IBM OMEGAMON
- Assess and evaluate the current TMON installation, configurations, thresholds, alerts, and dashboards
- Document existing monitoring requirements and operational dependencies
- Design and configure IBM OMEGAMON to match existing TMON functionality or improve upon it based on customer needs
- Work collaboratively with customers and internal teams to define desired monitoring outcomes
- Implement, test, and validate OMEGAMON configurations to ensure accuracy and performance
- Provide troubleshooting support during and after the migration
- Assist with knowledge transfer, documentation, and best practices for ongoing OMEGAMON usage
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with TMON (installation, configuration, and administration)
- Hands-on experience with IBM OMEGAMON (preferably for z/OS and related components)
- Proven experience performing monitoring tool migrations or transitions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work directly with customers to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in mainframe or enterprise monitoring environments
- Familiarity with performance monitoring, alerting, and capacity management concepts
- Prior experience leading or supporting tool modernization or migration initiatives
