Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager (L3) will provide project management consulting services to NYCERS for the successful delivery of initiatives within the Legacy Replacement Program. This role operates within the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and requires extensive experience managing large-scale, multi-workstream projects in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end project management for assigned NYCERS initiatives.
  • Work within the EPMO and report to the Deputy Director of Delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate vendors supporting the Legacy Replacement Program.
  • Apply PMI PMBOK standards and the full project management lifecycle.
  • Oversee scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, communications, procurement, and stakeholder management.
  • Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities through standardization, automation, and business process reengineering (BPR).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for overall project status and escalation.
  • Lead and manage project teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Develop clear, concise, and actionable executive-level status reports.
  • Proactively gather feedback and refine project deliverables accordingly.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing large-scale, complex projects with multiple workstreams.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working within a PMO as a Project Manager.
  • Senior-level experience managing organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of PMO governance, standards, and resource management.
  • Experience managing System Integration vendors and teams of 15+ personnel.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects and guide teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, Project).
  • Experience with project management tools such as Planview or Sensei IQ.
  • PMP Certification Required

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Planview PPM Pro.
  • Experience with Sensei IQ.
  • Experience working with Pension Administration Systems.
  • Exposure to multiple delivery methodologies: Agile, Hybrid, COTS, Iterative, and Waterfall.
