Job Description:
Senior SAP Developer/Global Support Manager

Location: Columbia, SC (Hybrid/On-site)

Duration: Contract / Full-Time

Reports To: Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Overview

A government agency is undergoing a transformative modernization of its IT systems and infrastructure. We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) Consultant with exceptional leadership skills and deep technical expertise to guide the I&O team through this critical phase of growth and maturity.

This role will work directly with the CIO and executive leadership to ensure the successful execution of infrastructure initiatives aligned with the agency's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand current systems and define future-state architecture.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term I&O strategies aligned with business needs.
  • Lead platform architecture design and implementation for new service capabilities.
  • Establish and oversee capacity and availability management processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in complex application delivery and infrastructure support.
  • Provide strategic leadership for day-to-day I&O operations and long-term planning.
  • Drive the development and implementation of ITIL-based service management processes (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, and Continuity Management).
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience in IT, with a focus on infrastructure and operations.
  • 15+ years of experience managing large, multi-tenant environments and cloud services.
  • 15+ years of vendor management and strategic oversight of re-platforming initiatives.
  • 10+ years of experience leading organizations through IT maturity transformations.
  • Proven track record of improving service delivery processes and operational efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, ITIL frameworks, and service management best practices.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in public sector or healthcare IT environments.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud strategies and modern DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
