Job Title: Senior ServiceNow ITOM Developer
Location: Houston, TX & San Francisco, CA Onsite Experience Level: Senior (7+ years preferred)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow ITOM Developer to design, develop, and implement IT Operations Management (ITOM) solutions within the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ServiceNow ITOM modules, strong scripting and integration skills, and experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop solutions using ServiceNow ITOM modules, including:
- Discovery
- Service Mapping
- Event Management
- CMDB Health and Reconciliation
- Cloud Management / Orchestration
- Implement and optimize Discovery patterns, probes, and MID servers for hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party monitoring and CMDB tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, AWS, Azure).
- Ensure CMDB data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across ITOM processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ITSM, ITAM, DevOps, CloudOps) to align ITOM capabilities with business needs.
- Configure and customize ServiceNow Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and Orchestration for automation.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance optimization efforts.
- Stay current with ServiceNow releases, best practices, and industry trends in IT operations management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 8 years of ServiceNow development experience, including 3+ years specifically in ITOM.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping
- Event Management and CMDB
- MID Server configuration and troubleshooting
- Integration Hub / REST / SOAP APIs
- Solid understanding of ITIL and CMDB best practices.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide scripting, and ServiceNow APIs.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITOM
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Discovery / Service Mapping / Event Management certifications
- Experience with Automation Engine, Cloud Discovery, or Terraform integration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices within ServiceNow.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working in fast-paced agile environments.
