Job Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location: Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, or Richmond (Onsite 4 days/week, 1 day remote)

Overview:
A corporate Risk and Technology team is seeking experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to enhance stability and reduce downtime across hundreds of critical banking applications. This role is ideal for individuals with deep technical expertise who thrive in high-pressure environments and can lead incident response efforts across complex enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead triage and resolution of high-priority incidents across diverse technology stacks.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify root causes and accelerate recovery.
  • Maintain and improve incident playbooks, focusing on top-tier applications such as Zelle and EP&W.
  • Develop end-to-end architecture diagrams and partner with delivery teams to map critical user journeys.
  • Enhance observability and telemetry across platforms and applications.
  • Drive proactive engineering initiatives including automation, performance analysis, and tooling improvements.
  • Establish and coach a reliability-focused team culture with strong SLO/SLI practices and consequence modeling.

Strategic Impact Areas:
  • Reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR) through playbook audits and remediation.
  • Update and refine playbooks for 13 Configuration Items (CIs) impacting Zelle due to recent incidents.
  • Improve incident detection logic and triage processes for top 20 EP&W applications.
  • Define and enforce Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) to ensure scalable and resilient systems.

Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret application code (Java, .NET).
  • Proficiency in networking (packet captures, firewalls, load balancers, routing).
  • Expertise in operating systems (AIX, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Proven ability to create and modify playbooks and architecture diagrams.
  • Familiarity with AWS, DevOps practices, and financial services environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in incident response and root cause analysis in large enterprise settings.
  • Experience in banking or financial services is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic SRE transformation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
