Job Details

The Senior Snowflake Data and Platform Engineer would lead the design, development, and administration of the Snowflake ecosystem. This role blends deep platform administration with hands-on data engineering, enabling secure, scalable, and high-performance data solutions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Snowflake Data Engineering:

  • Implement real-time and batch ingestion, transformation, and ETL pipelines using Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks
  • Develop stored procedures, functions, and views to support business intelligence and reporting
  • Configure and manage external storage integrations in a multi-cloud environment (e.g., Azure Blob, AWS S3, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Build and maintain logical and physical data models
  • Automate data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting using Python scripts and orchestration tools

Snowflake Platform Engineering:

  • Administer and optimize Snowflake environments, including warehouses, roles, network and security policies and performance tuning
  • Design and implement robust Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery process, including backup, failover, replication, and recovery procedures
  • Continuously track Snowflake enhancements and share relevant updates with the team to ensure the team remains informed
  • Partner with the Internal IT Security team to assess and remediate findings identified during security audits
  • Manage user provisioning, data security, roles, and access controls across multiple environments
  • Lead the team in adhering to established Snowflake best practices

Must-have Requirements:

  • Atleast 5 years of experience in Snowflake platform administration and data engineering
  • Strong skills in SQL, Change Data Capture, Snow Pipes, Streams, Tasks, Stored procedures, Functions and SnowSQL
  • Should have data modeling experience in Snowflake along with creating ERD's
  • Hands-on Python development experience
  • Should have knowledge of Real time or Near-real time streaming data using Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks
  • High-level knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) and data integration
  • Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization in Snowflake
  • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced certification

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for Snowflake
  • Knowledge of DBT is a plus
