DURATION: 30 Months

LOCATION: Albany, NY - Hybrid

This position will fill a key role on priority projects in support of the New York State Office of Mental Health's mission. The goal of the Legacy Risk Remediation Projects is to rewrite legacy applications built on an aging infrastructure and antiquated technologies into new and currently supported coding platforms. This position will be responsible for quality assurance activities such as building and automating test cases based on system requirements, triaging and recording defects and ensuring compliance with agency, state, and federal regulation. In addition, this position may be required to assist in development of help documents for the end user.

Qualifications
  • Software Analyst- Studies the software application domain, prepares software requirements, and specification documents. Liaises between the software users and the software developers. Conveys the demands of software users to the developers. Skills include: working knowledge of software technology; computer programming experience/expertise; general business knowledge; problem solving/reduction skills; interpersonal relation skills; flexibility and adaptability.
  • Senior- 60 - 84 months: Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
  • 72 months experience creating, maintaining, and running regression/automation tests with UFT (Unified Functional Testing) testing tool using Selenium WebDriver with.Net Core 2.0 or Java on various browsers.
  • 72 months experience creating, maintaining and running performance and ADA compliance testing using tools such as LoadRunner, JAWS, WAVE or NVDA.
  • 72 months experience with quality assurance and usability testing and analysis, using Jira for managing and maintaining test cases, running tests and tracking the defects.
  • 72 months experience coordinating, tracking, and analyzing testing activities working directly with business analysts, business and technical subject matter experts including use of defect management tools to identify, document, track and communicate problems to technical staff.
  • 60 months experience creating test documents for user acceptance testing and experience in functional and UAT testing
  • 36 months experience using TFS, GitLab
  • 24 months experience testing applications which contain Health Care data that fall under HIPAA Protected Health Information (PHI).

Day-to-Day tasks

  • Develop and maintain automated regression tests using UFT (Unified Functional Testing) and Selenium WebDriver with Java and .Net Core for multiple applications using frameworks such as Open2Test, keyword-driven on various browsers.
  • Testing various applications manually and/or using automation testing tools to perform Functional, Integration, Regression, System and Ad-Hoc testing.
  • Be involved in designing, developing and executing the entire QA process, including documentation of test plans, test cases and test scripts for various web applications. Also testing of applications on desktop and mobile devices.
  • Provide application support, architecture diagrams and/or technical documentation as needed.
  • Analyze business needs and create user acceptance tests and appropriate documentation.
  • Participate in multi-agency technical meetings and work sessions including stakeholders, business analysts, technical architects and developers.
  • Report status of current tasks and outstanding issues to supervisor. Participate in daily scrum meetings to support agile methodology that is used for system development, triaging of defects and enhancements, and maintaining defect logs.
