EMPLOYEE ROLE

We believe that design tools should be lightweight and easy to use, natively multi-user and collaborative, with low friction and amazing performance. This thinking is built into our approach to engineering. We favor excellence over shortcuts, and quality over scope. We also believe in transparent, open dialog with our customers, and continuous improvements to the product and ourselves.

The opportunity is to join as the second engineer on a new product that we're incubating in Creative Cloud. As part of our team, you will help shape the future of AI-first creative tools.
What you'll do:
  • Develop components and frameworks in support of web application development efforts within Creative Cloud.
  • Develop high-performance, reliable, testable, well-documented, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with engineers that work on Creative Cloud products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Express, and Firefly to deliver phenomenal customer experiences.
  • Have meaningful ownership. You'll make important decisions about the way our product looks, feels, and behaves.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their workflows and needs, and adapt or adjust quickly based on their feedback.
  • Strive to build an inclusive team supporting diverse opinions. We value a positive personality who can give and take healthy feedback, encourage and develop the team's ideas, and generally leave ego out of it.
  • You'll sharpen your skills, take ownership of important aspects of the design, and help evolve our team as we continue to learn and tune our process.
  • You'll be part of a communicative, healthy, product development family that includes product managers, engineers, researchers and other designers.
  • Develop and deploy working software to production. We pride ourselves on safely doing this many times a day and expect you to enjoy shipping code behind feature flags, running A/B tests, and making features available to the user with a flip of a switch.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • San Francisco or Remote (US)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years overall development experience.
  • Strong Web development experience - JavaScript/Typescript/HTML/CSS, experience with ES6, and Web Components / React / similar UI frameworks.
  • Proficient with CI/CD and automation pipelines, and be comfortable providing guidance on best practices for DevOps and SRE functions
  • Experience with Agile development processes including Scrum.
  • A passion for empowering mobile application and web designers to create more engaging experiences.
  • Proven results-oriented person - especially in the areas of writing high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code.
  • Works well in a distributed team environment across multiple geographies; can develop strong working relationships and promote a positive, collaborative tone.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can optimally articulate complex ideas and influence others through well-reasoned explanations.
  • A good sense of humor is a big plus!
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Deep design knowledge and passion for design tools. Experience developing design tools a plus.
  • Enthusiastic about the role of AI in the design and development process, with hands-on experience using and creating AI-first products.
