Job Description:

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team working on our mobile game, Warcraft Rumble. This is a position with the team responsible for player features. Our team of great engineers is looking to grow with experienced full stack developers with good customer focused mindsets.

In this role, you will help develop new systems and services for our game coordinating across disciplines with designers and product managers. In addition to having a strong background as a full stack engineer and technical skills, we are looking for qualified engineers who have a passion for gaming. As a Full Stack engineer on features, you should have great communication skills, as you will work closely with people from different crafts to create compelling and epic features that will keep players engaged for years. A self-driving attitude combined with the hunger for improvements and seeking challenges is a key part of that role.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

You will among other things:

  • Architect systems for performance, stability, scalability, and fault tolerant operation Coordinate with engineers on network efficiency.
  • Design and deliver code that is robust, extensible, flexible and simple to use.
  • Champion Blizzard's core values, especially "Gameplay First" Requirements. High level of experience in one or more of the following languages: C#, C++, Java, Kotlin, Scala, Rust Experience building backend systems in a client/server architecture.
  • Design and implement client side components in support of desired user experience Share your knowledge and help colleagues both inside and outside of your team.

Skills to create thrills

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of distributed messaging systems (especially Kafka and similar products) iOS and/or Android software development expertise
  • Previous Unity game-engine experience
  • 5+ years of experience within a software engineering related field. Front end and back end full stack development experience.
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems.
  • Focus on writing high quality code that is easy to maintain and read by others. Excellent communicator in English.

Bonus points

  • Practical experience with Cloud technologies: Preferably Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in designing and implementing RPC protocols.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL (especially Cassandra and similar products)

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $101,000.00 - $186,754.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
