EMPLOYER: Optum Services Inc.

JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.)

DUTIES: Design, build and deliver highly performant and scalable web applications and APIs by leveraging strong technical foundation, interpersonal and project management skills. Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing. Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders. Design reusable components, frameworks and libraries. Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions. Participate in an Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases. Design and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business. Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance. Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required. Manage and guide other software engineers within the team. Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enable team velocity. Estimate engineering work effort for engineering team and effectively identify and prioritize the high impact tasks. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines. Telecommuting is available from anywhere in the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Software Engineer-related occupation. Position requires 5 years of experience in the following: Microsoft Azure and Microsoft COSMOS DB; Spring framework; Angular; Node JS; Google Cloud Platform Kafka; Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm Charts; AEM; ORM technologies including Hibernate and JPA; Agile Methodology; XML/JSON, developing SOAP and REST services; Automated unit testing technologies including Junit or Spock; SQL, MySQL, relational database modeling and design; Java, Spring boot, and Sprint Reactive; JavaScript, and Typescript; and ATDD using Karma and Jasmine.

RATE OF PAY: $ 156,045.00 - $201,600.00 / per year
