RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Production Support in Merrimack, NH.

Summary:
In this role, you will apply your deep technical expertise across distributed and mainframe systems to ensure seamless operations of mission-critical applications that support our intermediary (clearing and custody) business. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to drive incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will be instrumental in evolving our support practices, improving observability, and mentoring engineers in production excellence.

Key Tasks:
* Lead production support efforts for critical applications, ensuring high availability and performance
* Drive resolution of complex incidents and conduct thorough root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
* Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement fixes, enhancements, and automation
* Improve observability and monitoring practices to proactively detect and resolve issues
* Guide and mentor engineers in production support best practices and operational excellence
* Contribute to support readiness for new releases and platform changes
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and client experience

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
* 8+ years of experience in enterprise application support, production engineering, or site reliability engineering
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, and container orchestration (EKS/ECS)
* Experience with Kafka Listener for event-driven architecture and message stream processing
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
* Hands-on experience with data movement and ETL tools such as Informatica, including job monitoring, failure recovery, and performance tuning
* Hands-on experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and automation of support tasks
* Familiarity with observability and logging tools such as Datadog, Splunk, ELK Stack
* Strong expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining applications built with Java/JEE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Python, and Linux
* Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
* Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional incident response and postmortem reviews
* Proficient in Agile methodologies and DevOps principles
* Proven ability to mentor engineers and drive operational best practices across teams
* Terraform experience preferred, CloudFormation Templates

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
