Job Details

We're seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for our client, a global biotech company with headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Project Description: This project will involve enhancements to Oligo Synthesizers which are used to create a variety of oligonucleotides that are used in a number of the client's products. Oligo Manufacturing relies on a complex system of custom and homegrown software, which requires extensive enhancements in order to meet future business needs as well as achieve substantial year over year cost savings. This project will provide enhancements to allow Oligos to be synthesized in CAMSTAR, as well as integrate existing/new equipment to PAC/MES. Internally it will require a replacement of the existing back end system which provides the software with recipes and orders to a newer modern system allowing for greater control and flexibility.

Overview:
* Targeted start date: 5/20/24
* Duration: 12 month W2 contract
* Location: Hybrid on-site in San Diego, CA (on-site initially when the project starts then once it's up and running will be Hybrid).
* Compensation: The expected compensation is $60 - 75/hr W2 plus benefits. The offered compensation to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include (but are not limited to) the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.

Responsibilities
*Collaborate with product owners and other application developers to design, code, and maintain high quality manufacturing software solutions against established processes in a scrum team setting.
*Document code according to industry best practices.
*Work with software teams to ensure alignment of architecture to user requirements
*Proficient with source control management repositories (such as GIT, SVN, etc.) and CM practices

Experience
* BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 7+ years of Software Engineering Experience in manufacturing environment.
* Extensive Experience creating shopfloor control software applications utilizing C#, Beckhoff TwinCAT Framework for bespoke scientific equipment.
* Experience of PLCs, motion control, robotics, distributed I/O, fieldbus systems (EtherCAT) and HMI technologies
* Experience developing multi-threaded applications.
* Experience with Network based data retrieval, developing and optimizing data analysis algorithms and data visualization preferred.
* Experience developing using unit testing.
* Experience developing instrumentation/machine control software preferred.
* Experience with OPC UA, REST, SOAP preferred.
* High level problem solving, and reasoning skills required.
* Experience and understanding of basic automated manufacturing systems, tools and component
* Work experience in biotech or medical device field desired.
