Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Des Moines, Iowa. This role requires someone with extensive expertise in system administration, legacy hardware, and virtualization technologies. You will play a key role in ensuring system stability, security, and operational efficiency across various platforms.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain legacy hardware systems, including servers running Windows Server 2003 and newer versions.
Administer and troubleshoot virtualization environments using Hypervisor technology to optimize resource allocation and isolation.
Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 helpdesk support to address complex technical issues and ensure system functionality.
Configure, monitor, and secure systems with Microsoft Intune, ensuring compliance with organizational security standards.
Perform advanced terminal-level work, evaluating system architecture and implementing improvements for stability.
Implement and manage DHCP and DNS configurations to ensure seamless network operations.
Support Mac OS environments, including deploying and managing systems using Jamf Pro.
Troubleshoot VPN technologies to maintain secure remote access for users.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold security protocols and optimize system performance.
Document processes and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient system management.
Requirements
A minimum of 10 years of experience in systems administration.
Expertise in legacy hardware systems, including Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and 2008.
Proficiency in Hypervisor technologies for virtualization and resource management.
Strong knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and VPN configurations.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and mobile device management (MDM) technologies.
Familiarity with Mac OS and Jamf Pro for system deployment and management.
Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Ability to manage security aspects of systems, ensuring compliance and protection against vulnerabilities.
