Examples of Duties
Gathers information and documents current procedures; analyzes and evaluates operational procedures and production systems; develops or modifies system documentation and user procedures; develops and/or modifies functional specifications.
Coordinates system/application efforts between department and T&I, vendors, or consultants; performs needed system tasks.
Participates in training programs to improve and increase competencies; conducts training sessions for other staff; prepares and conducts user training programs.
Prepares test data and verifies system test results; consults with user, technical staff, and functional project team members on questions; analyzes and resolves system problems; serves as user liaison in development and maintenance projects.
Engages in independent research and prepares and presents reports of findings; develops cost/benefit analyses.
Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of subordinates; completes performance evaluations, approves leave and training requests, administers discipline as needed, and serves as respondent in the grievance process.
Participates in technical system design from functional specifications; assists in evaluation of application and hardware products; coordinates special administrative projects and assists in special projects developed by management.
Formulates logical statements of business problems and devises procedures for solutions, usually through computer systems.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Considerable knowledge of: procedures and processes utilized in converting manual systems into automated systems.
Working knowledge of: instructional techniques employed in training subordinate and user personnel.
