Job Details
MTSI is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) to support an advanced air platform program through system architecture development, platform integration planning, and technical coordination. This role is focused on ensuring systems engineering rigor is applied across platform-level capabilities including avionics, propulsion, structures, and mission system interfaces. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in aircraft systems engineering, technical leadership across platform components, and experience operating within DoD acquisition environments.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the systems engineering lead supporting integration of major platform subsystems.
- Develop and maintain system architecture artifacts, interface definitions, and requirements traceability.
- Support platform-level trade studies, risk assessments, and technical decision-making.
- Lead or participate in engineering review boards, design working groups, and technical interchange meetings.
- Coordinate with other functional leads (e.g., propulsion, avionics, structures) to ensure aligned system designs.
- Support system verification planning, test coordination, and configuration management processes.
- Assist in documenting technical baselines and developing acquisition and milestone documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in platform or systems engineering for military aviation programs.
- Strong understanding of air platform subsystems and system-of-systems integration principles.
- Experience with DoD acquisition lifecycle, system requirements development, and interface control.
- Ability to lead technical meetings and communicate across engineering and program management teams.
- Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
Desired
- Experience with digital engineering and MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo, SysML).
- Familiarity with aircraft system certification processes and test events.
- Experience supporting AFLCMC or other U.S. Air Force program offices.
- Master's degree or relevant systems engineering certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP).
- Experience in early design, EMD, or production phases of aircraft development.
