Overview:

In this hybrid UX and UI design role, candidates should have a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, requirements gathering, interaction design, prototyping, visual styling and design aesthetic, and an interest in the technical aspects that bring designs to life. They should be proficient in communicating and translating the ideas of the team into presentable formats as well as the ability to lead and champion collaborative design techniques.

As part of the Product Design team, you will be working directly with design strategists, interaction designers, visual designers, copywriters, product owners and engineering teams to define and implement the user experience for the PTC product platforms and applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Product Design teammates, Business, Engineering, and QA stakeholders to deliver stunning UX that meet business goals
  • Describe users' navigation, tasks, and journeys for product features or enhancements via:
    • Conceptual visualization
    • Mental models
    • User flows
    • Wireframes
    • Interactive prototypes
    • High-fidelity redlines
    • Etc.
  • Produce visual styling and design aesthetic while demonstrating independence in applying the PTC Design System
  • Presentation of deliverables to designers, stakeholders, and leadership
  • Work closely with developers to ensure design integrity in final product
  • Self-motivated expert in current and emerging technology, trends, standards, and devices
  • Active contributor to Design Systems for delivering standard experience across all products


Skills and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated understanding of UI complexities such as cross-browser requirements and accessibility standards
  • Solid understanding of user-centered and Design Thinking principles
  • Careful attention to detail, as well as ability to grasp multiple product requirements concurrently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Extensive proficiency in using Figma for UI and UX design and documentation (wireframing, prototype development, redlines)
  • A working knowledge of front-end technologies, including CSS3, HTML5 and JavaScript standards
  • Capable self-starter, self-motivated, able to perform tasks under minimal supervision
  • A humble expert with an open-mind who knows that great ideas come from anyone and enjoys learning from and collaborating with others to deliver best-in-class experiences
  • Portfolio with projects demonstrating process (conceptualization through realization) and design justification


Experience:
  • Experience designing interfaces to support a broad range of responsive/adaptive HTML/CSS Frameworks
  • Experience working in Agile development teams
  • Experience designing SaaS applications


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Product Designer in:
    • web-based, mobile and desktop software applications
    • defining, developing, and documenting UX/UI design and interaction requirements and specifications
