Position: Technical Writer

Content: Knowledge articles for ServiceNow Knowledge Management module

Location: Charlotte, NC | On-Site 3 days/week

Duration: 12-18 months

Type: W2 contract, paid hourly. No C2C, 1099, or third-party submissions will be accepted. Only direct W-2 candidates will be considered.

Pay Rate Range: W2 $45-53/hr

Overview

Join the ServiceNow Governance team as a technical writer focused on building and improving knowledge articles. This role is best for a writer who is driven, independent, and excited to grow their ServiceNow skillset.

Top Requirements
  • ServiceNow Knowledge Articles: Experience writing and publishing knowledge articles directly in ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge Module Expertise: Hands-on experience building articles using knowledge blocks, templates, metadata, and understanding how UI/UX ties into how users consume content.
  • Work Style: Self-motivated, curious, and able to work independently. Senior-level candidates may find the role too narrow.


Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and publish high-quality knowledge articles in ServiceNow.
  • Configure and structure articles using knowledge blocks, categories, tags, and templates.
  • Collaborate with UX, platform admins, and process owners to align content with user experience standards.
  • Maintain content quality through audits, version control, and governance processes.
  • Use analytics to refine and improve article clarity, usefulness, and search performance.
  • Contribute to style guides, taxonomy updates, and continuous improvement within the knowledge program.
  • Support additional ServiceNow governance or platform initiatives as you grow.


Qualifications
  • 2+ years of technical writing or knowledge management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the ServiceNow Knowledge module.
  • Strong writing, organization, and information-design skills.
  • Ability to translate technical or process-heavy material into clear, user-friendly content.
  • Familiarity with ITSM concepts, Service Portal/Agent Workspace, or content analytics is a plus.
