Job Details

title: Software Architect (enterprise applications)
Location: Washington, DC 20530 (5 days a week on-site)
duration: 6 months, extension
security clearance: PUBLIC TRUST cannot begin assignment until granted.

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in software architecture, with a focus on enterprise applications, and at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise architecture.
5+ years of Software Development experience
Experience with Sprint Pointing
Deep experience in application development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
Strong background in enterprise application integration using APIs, microservices, and cloud technologies.
Expertise in designing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficiency in modern application frameworks, technologies, and architectures, including microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker), and Kubernetes.
Experience with enterprise application platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle) and cloud-based application development platforms.
Strong understanding of application security practices, including secure coding and data protection.
Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and their integration into enterprise applications.
Understanding of how applications support business processes and strategy, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor technical staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:
Experience in designing and architecting hybrid cloud applications.
Familiarity with container orchestration using tools that are Kubernetes based.
Strong understanding of DevOps principles and how they apply to enterprise application architecture.
Experience with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) integration into enterprise applications.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect), or security (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)) are highly preferred.
