About the team
The Core Infrastructure organization at Stripe is in charge of building and operating infrastructure services and cloud technologies used by product teams to launch new product offerings and features which support our business. This includes defining and driving the vision necessary to achieve best in class scale and availability. We continuously invest in building new distributed services and scaling existing technologies while working with various teams to meet their current and future needs.
The High Assurance Engineering team within the Core Infrastructure organization is responsible for ensuring traffic makes it from the internet to our software safely and transparently to other engineers at Stripe, while also protecting Stripe from external threats (e.g. DDOS). This platform and infrastructure sits at the intersection between our secure cardholder data environment (CDE) and the rest of Stripe. We securely tokenize, encrypt, and store cardholder data, expose interfaces for Stripe engineers to work safely and compliantly with this data, and connect with credit card networks. We leverage modern encryption primitives to build state of the art integrations with our financial partner's systems. When this team operates well, we enable efficient and predictable expansion through the world. We act as a force multiplier by allowing Stripe engineers to build advanced, innovative products that take full advantage of our partners' unique systems, while improving global financial security.

What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain distributed cloud infrastructure and platform services
- Work on scaling, automation, reliability and observability of infrastructure services
- Operate your service, debug issues, and support customers
- Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization

Minimum requirements
- 1.5+ years of professional experience in a software development role
- Experience using one of the major cloud providers - AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform/Oracle Cloud
- A strong engineering background in building platform services and/or distributed systems at scale
- Experience developing, maintaining and debugging distributed systems
- Experience with operational excellence and a deep understanding of metrics, alarms and dashboards
- Experience handling critical incidents for production systems
- Experience with Go
- Experience with Linux OS
- Experience with PCI compliant systems
